Sins and Raids

Tier 1 : Kyllikki's Crypt - Field Of The Dead

Trash mobs:
1.White Hand Guards
These are minions and can be killed by any class with a minion instant kill spell - Just ignore them unless they are attacking you. If you have the ability "Ambush" from the general tree feated, you can also instantly kill one (you must be in hide mode)
2.White Hand Spellguard
Spellguard is a nightmare for everyone because of its powerful AoE attack. It usually casts two AoE's during the fight . I f you have the ability "Dull Pain" feated these AoE's shouldn't be a huge problem for you. I cant really tell when to use it (in the first or second AoE), that depends on how quickly and efficiently the healers spam their big heals. Anyhow, Dull Pain allows you to stay on the spellguard in both AoE's. If you do not have this ability available, as soon as the SG rises its hand, sprint out of range and wait a bit before you go back in.
3.White Hand Priest
Nothing special with the Priest. Just do what you are supposed to do.
4.Gurnakhi Honorguard
It's a real pain for the soldiers because it's impossible to tank it (it constantly resets aggro),for the healers ( just loves them) and for the melee dpsers (unable to complete their combos). You don't have to cancel your combos each and every time it moves away from you ( ranged dpsers just refuse to stay in melee range for some reason and that messes it all) . Just open your combo and when you are in the right position complete it.
Champion of the Honorguard (boss)
Champion is a soldier, a Dark Templar . His most powerful attack is Curse of Gwahlur. When that buff is up (lasts 10s), you must stop DPS immediately. Otherwise he will do retributive damage that can easily wipe the entire raid. You are supposed not to use DoTs during this fight. If you use the slow death strike combo, make sure that its effect isn't running when the curse is up. You can instantly consume it by using the miasma "face stab". If you dont feel that confident dont use it at all. At 60% , Champion starts an AoE attack every two seconds (or so). This attack grows stronger after 25% of his health. You must have health pots running all the time. And again Dull Pain could be very handy here. If your health is low and the potions or the Hots arent enough to heal you up, get out of the AoE's range and then back in. When you see the Covenant of Petruscence's icon (or Pestilence?)above your health bar,it's better for you and your group to hold your dps till it's gone.
Kyllikki (boss)
Kyllikki is a mage that does frost damage. And again your job here is to dps her :p . Not a hard boss, really. However, you must be really careful with your dps. The best position for you is behind her. You must follow her when she goes to the 3 alcoves where the spellguards (healers) spawn. It's very important to stay within her range during the whole fight. Never run away from her!!! Otherwise she will cast an AoE attack which can wipe the entire raid. After the 3rd alcove, you are allowed to max out your dps.

Tier 1 : Yakhmar 's Cave - Eiglophian Mountains

Yakhmar(boss)
As a single target dps-er, you are usually assigned to dps the boss. The fight is quite simple for you. However, there are a few things you really need to have in mind. Yakhmar does a knockback AoE . Make sure that you let the tanks land the first hit after the kb. It helps a bit with the aggro management. If for any reason the main tank group gets stunned ( that happens regularly when the dps group doesnt keep a safe distance from the boss), stop your dps immediately. You dont want to do the tanking instead :p. Watch out for the wyrmilings that spawn every some (?) secs. If one of these adds is on you, do not wait for a tank (add puller) to help you. Sprint towards the dps group. Otherwise you are pretty much dead! These adds can be cc'd. Don't stun them and of course don't kite them away from the dps group. Make sure that there is no fire buff or any item that does fire dmg on you (as a sin you shouldn't have anyways). If you are in the dps group, just stay away from the boss, stay alive and help burning down the adds :)

Tier 1 : Dragon's Lair - Atzel's Approach

Trash mobs:
1.Chill Crawler Mindrazers
These are minions and can be killed by any class with a minion instant kill spell. If you have the ability "Ambush" from the general tree feated, you can also instantly kill one (you must be in hide mode). They can mind control and stun you.
2.Chill Crawler Shadowbearers
Not much of a trouble. They are usually the first to be killed.
3.Chill Crawler Champions
They hit quite hard. Be carefull with the aggro as they reset it quite easily. Backside attack is a good choice for these mobs.
4.Frozen Cadavers
Nothing special with them. Can be cc'ed.
Vistrix (boss)
Listen very carefully to your raid leader s instructions. He/She' ll tell where you are supposed to stand. When the boss is in the right position, let the tanks build up maximum aggro. Start with debuffs and then go really easy with your dps. Every 45 secs or so, Vistrix does a 25m radius AoE stun called "Tartarous Vapors", which is followed by a flame breath on everyone who is stunned. If you steal aggro right before the stun, you' ll be probably dead after the unstun. You can save yourself by stopping dps immediately and using your available anti hate ability (make sure that there is one :p). And again Dull Pain along with Spirit Of Nightfall could save the day if feated :). In any case make sure that the tanks are above you in Vistrix ' hate list. At 75%, 50% and 25% of her health , she spawns adds (Terrors Of Tartarus : minions and Horrors of Tartaros : raid mobs). These adds can be AoE'd and easily killed. Your role is to dps the boss :)

No matter what you do, you will have aggro issues sooner or later. That's the cost of being one of the heaviest damage dealers. And remember, you are very squishy (one of the squishiest :p).And that's the reason why you should use your anti hate abilities wisely. Make sure there is always one of them available. It's easy to see when you are in "trouble". Lots of crits most of the times means tanking time. Try to avoid it :). It would be ideal if you could control your dps. Sometimes, though, it takes just one hit to steal aggro from the tanks. Hold your dps for a bit and let them build/rebuild it up in a maximun level (they need 5-10 secs).

to be continued with T2....
