The following is the Ranger Build I'm using at the moment.
It is kind of a hybrid build PvE focus with some PvP usability.
Albae's Present Ranger Build
probably could rearrange some of the more PvP oriented CC breakers etc. to go elsewhere

Re: Ranger Builds
How exactly does Critical Aim work? I did a bit of testing on TL but it didn't make any combo's (Salvo) crit. So I guess it only gives a 100% crit chance to the hit that initiates a combo; does that mean you can make instant combo's like Heartseeker and Pin Down crit with Critical Aim?

Re: Ranger Builds
Critical Aim crits only the very first attack of a combo (combo starter). It does not crit. the combo finisher. So Heartseaker and PinDown finisher won't go crit.
Try activate Critical Aim and then press either Salvo or Heartseaker (don't think the others are that wortwhile) and the very first hit it does is crit.

Nat .. have you had any problems with that build in Kylikki as it puts a light DoT on the target ?

Ranger Builds
Hi guys, just wanted to post up my feat build for the ranger class. I'm more passionate about Rangers than any other class and i think it's always useful to share build information with friends to pool knowledge. My main raid toon over the past 12 months or so has been ranger and this is a build that works well for me in most situations.

I got pretty much a similar build ... I think the "biggest" difference is that I use 3 less feat points on the Stealth strike + Sniper stance part and feated fire stance instead. So I probably got some "waste" feat points laying around somewhere. Aand 2 or 3 nodes (only nodes as I can't speak at present of a PvP/PvE hybrid build) towards PvP with excellent balance and a more equal balance between protection and armour feat.
I think I also got a fully feated quick shots with the feat points I don't use on the Silent shot + sniper stance side

Ranger Builds
Yeah, my build is pure pve and specced to give me max dps for my style of play. I've tried a few different builds over the course of the last 2 years and have tested on TL but i've never specced for fire stance and beyond. One thing i have tried to do is maximise the bleed and puncture dps because over the course of a raid it's amazing how much DoT a ranger can do.
As for speccing silent shots, the points spent there are really little more than a filler to unlock the sniper branch of the Sharpshooter tree as i wanted to spec all the way into that branch. I figured it was better for me to put the points there than to waste points on fire stance and sulfurous burst which i probably wouldn't even use. I'm sure having all 5 points in silent shots makes little or no difference in terms of game mechanics to putting either 1 or 2 points in it but there we go

This is my new build for Vesper following the revamp. Last night's BRC run was really the first time i'd properly played ranger since the update and this 'starting' build worked quite well for me. There will be a few tweaks coming as i adjust my play style but the biggest problem i am having is remapping my brain to the new hotkey layout

Thanks Minoc
.
Have to play a bit more with my Ranger to see what my specc will be. Specifically in regards to solo play as I left some CCs out which has a lot more impact on the solo play then group/raid. Would have to look up, what I specced in game as I can't remember the exact specc at,.
. But hard to say what is down to my specc and what comes from some added AAS advantages.

Ranger Builds
Made a few tweaks last night to my build following the few raids i've done recently and whilst the core of my initial build was decent - there were redundant parts to it in how i play under normal circumstances so i think this new one will squeeze a little bit more juice out of the old girl

This is the post-revamp build I've settled down with. Parsed ~750dps on Excorant & ~960 dps on Sabazios* (during a W1 PuG last night) but heck, I still lack epic legs & chest. Don't ask me about Yaremka, DoT had me killed when the boss was still at ~70%

Ranger Builds
interesting builds here
. At present I got a slightly different route ... iirc. Always forget to note it while I am in game.
But "aggro" control might be more of a problem now then before the revamp. While I never had -hate specced before 2.05 (not got it at the moment either) just th efact that I had the "silent shot" as a default combo and feated as well if you when for the "sniper stance" could have helped keep the aggro down.
I had a chat with Blod once about carange specced AAS feats and he mentioned, if I remember it right, that he had to not equip some AAS feats as the DPS output was just too much sometime for tanks to handle. Which could well become a problem for Rangers to some degree as well, in some cases.
Would be interesting to see a comparison of performance of separate builds but within the same raid or by the same person. Probably try out some pretty different builds and parse a WIng 1 raid
