News on a few new features...

Monday in the Game Director's monthly newsletter, we will get updates on the following new features:

  • The new trade-skill system. Gems, crafting and profession system are getting a major revamp. It will be in the still of Star Wars Galaxies and Diablo 2
  • Bank space will be increase. If you did not notice, since patch 3.2 you now have arrows for your bank space. Monday we will know how and when we will be able to increase the bank space.
  • Stamina changes. There is a new system for the Stamina coming soon. It will involve a 4th gauge. We will have Heath, Mana, Stamina and perhaps running energy.
  • The new Dual-Spec system. Just like the weapon slots, we will soon have dual spec system to change feats with the touch of a button. I am sure there will be a cool down, but Monday we will know more.
  • The Tier 4 raids. Tier 4 raids will soon be finish, I believe there will be an additional 5 or 6 bosses.
  • The next Adventure Pack. More info on this summer's adventure pack. No one knows yet were it will be.
  • Balance and classes ability changes. More changes to your favourite ability or combo. Monday you will know more.

So stay tune, Monday the Game Director will give details of all those things and more.

This letter is so bad... No committing to anything firmly, not even saying when the things should be out like until now. It was clear that things will be delayed a bit but now it all seems up in the air.

It just reeks of budgeting issues and resource allocation problems for the AoC team... And they had Amellie so hyped.

Well, at least we will have the crafting revamp sooner. But yeah, no details!

He said that next month there will be details. Also he said that it will be back to the old style MMO crafting system. Has anyone done crafting in StarWars Galaxie? If so, can you post some details to the way it was so that we have an idea what to expect?

Never tried SW galaxies, but the crafting system in SWTOR is quite nice. What I remember from diablo which also has been mentioned, it wasnt all that deep, though the rune words were nice.

That letter was quite long and managed to convey almost no information. The focus on system changes repeatedly mentioned gives an oblique nod to the crashes and lags of the last month but it would have been nice for him to have acknowledged our pain.

Well, that confirms it now, next month we will know about the crafting.

That should be good, hopefully.

I wonder what it would do to the game if the crafting becomes useful. What I mean is if crafters can do things better than Khitai. What if with practice, so grind, one crafter can actually craft stuff that is equal or better then Raid Tier items.

If there is a taste of Diablo in the crafting, this could mean that each crafted item could have a small chance of having a really good stat. Depending on the level of the crafter and the level of the ingredients, a specific number of prefix and suffix to the item name had a chance to be generated. All that means is that not all crafted items with the same recipe would have the exact same stats and some could be very good other could be very bad. This would create a market and good items would be a lot more expensive.

I think this could be really fun.
