1.05 DT Builds

Postby Gert » 26 May 2009, 11:08

Obviously things may change but there is a 1.05 feat planner available...so post here your build that you'll likely use in 1.05.

Gert's 1.05 build

Still setup for mana tanking but with some nice dps from the 2 new skills; Goad is shifted to a backup taunt with SoC and Irritate being the main aggro generators.

1.05 DT Builds

Played around a bit with the build and now using this

Changed to Covenant of Death instead of War - managed to take the Elder Pict Chief in SH without pots and in normal stance - even fatalitied him with Dark Hand :P

[04:51:05] You start casting Dark Hand
[04:51:05] You are healed for 9.
[04:51:05] You gain Blood for Blood
[04:51:05] You gain Fatality
[04:51:05] You gain 129 mana.
[04:51:05] You gain 313 stamina.
[04:51:05] Your Dark Hand hits Crocodile Elder Chief for 378 unholy damage.
[04:51:05] Your Dark Hand Healing critically heals you for 734.
[04:51:05] Crocodile Elder Chief died.

Was at ~2.5k health at the end of the fight; buffed with lvl 80 food was 12,310, mana is 2,523 and stamina is 6,565 with lvl 80 food; Sadism was at 1 and had the CoD dmg buff up going in...using all t1 gear so won't be that high when Gert gets to play for real ;)

Was managing 3-4 mobs, could stand a ranged hitting me whilst I took down 2 melee but would have no mana left; most fights I got 2-3 chain kills...so looking nice for DTs :) Not sure how this will fare in raids though...

A ~15 min run in SH saw:

- 233.18 dps
- 54.76 hps

- 200,535 dmg dealt
- 81,928 dmg taken
- 47,095 healing done

- 3,560 burst dmg
- 1,428 burst heal (didn't use Blood Pact so could hit more)

Breakdown of damage

Breakdown of self heals (unknown heals = life taps (physical and magical))

Was interested to see how much Reaping Choas did (the proc that Seal of Choas gets when you fully feat Mystical Bane) - didn't expect it to be that high.

Just done a full SH run (so I can compare against the Necro runs Lyss and Alb have done...) - I think somethings wrong :P Was in normal stance the whole run, 0 deaths.

Overall stats:

For comparison, ConanStats has Imba (Lyss) at:

(Not used Alb's log as it was a few updates back)

Damage breakdown:

Heals:

Image

1 Health, 1 Stamina and 1 Mana pot used - health was used when I pulled 5 mobs by mistake. Got to Sadism 6 a few times as well - which is nice for Solo'ing ;)

I used Battlemar and Black Cragfall this run - the Black Cragfall looks a bit better stats-wise:

Wasn't a bad run - not too shabby DPS or heals :) Still some tweaking to do and working out when to use what but otherwise I like this build :P

Works well on Live as well - think the most I was taking on in Attilus's Mansion was 8 (mixed of rangers, poms and melee) and managed to get down to around 1/3 health...I guess they'll be balancing SoC as that fully-feated does seem a bit OP to me.

I'll go with this build.

Heard good things about Warped Dread and the new synergy with SoC and Dark Hand makes me love Blood Pact even more :D Caster enemies will hurt but I hope Cunning Deflection will help reducing overall damage taken.

I've been running without CD and not noticed it's loss tbh when tanking. Also finding I can do some nice burst damage - esp on 2 or more mobs - by going VR - UB1 - MB4 - MB3 - MB1. The 3 MB do a lot of dmg (as it's feated for the extra unholy dmg) and get a bit of lifetap going (on both physical and magic dmg).

Still yet to have UB do a 1k+ crit but working on it ;) Closest so far (iirc) is 910 :)

Looking forward to using the build in T1 raids - esp after being MT in Crow's Nest and seeing I can tank and yet still do a nice amount of damage :) Reaping Chaos (feated via Ether Reap) is definitely a nice addition to Seal of Chaos :D; also finding using Blood for Aid IV is adding a nice bit of damage - esp once Volcanic Rage is popped :)

Been thinking about dropping the 2 points in Masochism but then decided to look at the BRC log and compare how much Sadism I gained (Masochism) against how much I was given (Sadism)...

90 minutes combat log saw:

34 procs for Masochism
114 procs for Sadism

148 total procs = ~23% of the Sadism increase from Masochism...

Breakdown of Masochism procs:

1 : 20
2 : 6
3 : 2
4 : 1
5 : 1
8 : 1
10 : 3

Might keep the 2 points :P

I got confused in all your builds :?:
Why do none of you uses the Dread Shadow? People say it is very useful for additional DPS when tanking.

I want a build I would be able to do some good tanking, combined with DPS. Which one to go for?

I don't use Dread Shadow as it's usefulness lessens as you go deeper in to raids; plus I need my mana for tanking (Soul Barrier, Dark Hand, Seal of Chaos)...

Dread Shadow is good for levelling and the early raids but there are other alternatives...plus the DPS isn't that much of a boost from it (best thing with it aside from the aggro is the debuff it does).

As long as you have Soul Barrier and some way of regaining mana (Crystallised Ether, Ether Reap, etc.) you can tank; then it's just a case of adding in DPS attacks. My build can do good DPS and good tanking - it's not the best DPS DT build but to get that you lose most of the tanking capability...but my build does really on getting some combos timed correctly and using a fully feated Seal of Chaos.

Just remember to do Unhallowed Blight 1 before doing Mystical Bane attacks (esp if they're feated for the extra unholy damage) and Blood for Aid - and if you have Volcanic Rage, pop that as you do UB and you can get a nice bit of burst damage going :)

--

Drago's build comes close to what I think you're after - but it's not going to be as good at tanking casters as other builds...

Been playing with my DPS spec'ed DT on TL - nice build and saw this in the log...

Your Shadow Hex crits Crocodile Servant for 666 unholy damage. - Gert2's Combat log

Your Shadow Hex crits Straw Man for 1178 unholy damage. - Gert2's Combat log

Your Shadow Hex crits Straw Man for 1403 unholy damage. - Gert2's Combat log

It's making me want to go DPS DT on Live :p Nice thing with this new DPS DT build is I can tank 7-8 mobs still...just my health goes down and up a lot more...
